Aug. 27th, 2011 @ 11:38 am Hurricane reminiscence
My last time near a hurricane was when House of Usher kicked off the annual Progday festival in Chapel Hill, NC, in 1999. Hurricane Dennis was about to make landfall, and the skies were just starting to spit. By the time we finished our hour-long set, organizers decided to move the festival to an alternate venue, making House of Usher the only band to perform outdoors that year.

What can I do?

Please tell me you don't make a habit of playing barefoot, especially where there may be water falling from the sky.

"It was while on stage with Stone the Crows at Swansea Top Rank in 1972 that he was killed, electrocuted by touching a microphone, that was not earth grounded, with his wet hands."

I do normally play barefoot, in order to feel and operate the pedals for all the keyboards. But it wasn't really raining much during our Progday performance (which was on a covered stage). It really picked up when we finished, which is why the show was afterwards moved indoors. No death wish here. And certainly no wish for a Darwin award!
